County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer is reacting to a landmark new contract between Kaiser Healthcare and 85,000 frontline workers, including right here in San Diego and across California, that is expected to be ratified on October 18.

“Congratulations to all the frontline healthcare workers, especially in San Diego and California, who give their all every day to provide care for their patients. This landmark contract with Kaiser is a significant victory for you, your families, and the future of working families in California,” said Supervisor Lawson-Remer.

In September, on Labor Day, Supervisor Lawson-Remer joined SEIU-UHW at a rally, and ever since joining the Board of Supervisors in 2021, has been fighting for workers in healthcare, and across the region with actions that include a new historic contract for County of San Diego workers from SEIU Local 221; supporting a new United Domestic Workers of America contract; creation of new subcontracting rules for County janitorial contracts, and creating the County’s Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement.
