Student Fellowship Opportunities

Do you want to help transform a $7b annual budget, impacting 3.3m people? Are you passionate about acting with urgency to effectively harness evidence to tackle climate change, environmental justice, affordable housing,  racial justice, criminal justice reform, and dignity for immigrant families? 

Join us to advance a new agenda at the San Diego County Board of Supervisors that centers on justice, opportunity, sustainability, and a moral economy.

The Student Fellowship program offers a fully immersive experience in a fast-paced policy and organizing environment. In addition to gaining experience in policy, Fellows also handle their own projects with specific deliverables and interdisciplinary learnings. 

All Student Fellowships are paid positions; more details available upon application.

 

Qualifications

Local high school, college, or graduate school students or recent graduates with an interest in elevating a transformative agenda at the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Strong interpersonal skills and experience in community organizing, grassroots organizations, casework, customer care, or communications a PLUS! Bilingual speaking & writing skills encouraged. 

 

Open Positions

We are currently looking to fill the following paid student positions. If you have any interest in these fields and you meet the qualification requirements, we highly encourage you to apply! 

  • Multi-Media Fellow

Will help create graphics, take photos, film, edit videos and any other aspects of multimedia content production. This content will touch on a range of topics the Fellow may be asked to assist with including constituent services, community engagement and other policy initiatives.

  • Constituent Services Fellow

Will help constituents of District 3 address their needs and problems. They will help plan and execute events throughout District 3, and ensure constituents are engaged and involved in County initiatives.
