San Diego County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer tonight was unanimously reappointed chair of the San Diego Community Power Board and will continue leading the Board’s efforts to expand clean energy, lower power bills, improve customer service, boost transparency about energy sources and launch programs for solar/battery adoption and energy efficiency.

“San Diego Community Power (SDCP) is crucial for making rates affordable for our residents, achieving renewable energy goals, providing cleaner, affordable energy options, and holding corporations accountable. It is a shield for the people against failing national systems and a way to build local power for public good, ensuring transparency, accountability, and progress towards 100% clean energy,” said San Diego County Board Chair Terra Lawson-Remer.

“I am pushing for concrete actions, like using county land for solar, to expand clean energy access, especially for disadvantaged communities.”

Lawson-Remer has been serving on the San Diego Community Power Board since 2023 and has been Chair for the past six months.

During her tenure on the San Diego Community Power (SDCP) Board, Lawson-Remer has championed policies for achieving 100% renewable energy by 2035, supported local food systems through sustainable sourcing practices, and worked to implement community-focused, pro-labor environmental initiatives, aligning SDCP with broader county goals for sustainability and equitable energy access.
