San Diego County Board Chair Terra Lawson-Remer released the following statement on the horrific shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego:

“San Diego County stands with the Muslim community, and our hearts go out to the families and friends of the victims of this horrific shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego. No one should ever fear for their safety in a house of worship, and we stand in absolute solidarity with our Muslim neighbors against this unspeakable act of violence. We are grateful for the swift and brave response from law enforcement, and my office stands ready to support the community and remain fiercely committed to rooting out hate and protecting all San Diegans from gun violence.”
